The Weight of the Quiet Hope
There were prayers I whispered on quiet commutes, carrying nothing but the fragile hope that one day, life would meet me where my dreams had already gone. Just me by the window, the steady hum of the bus, and the same familiar streets slipping by—so often they began to feel like silent witnesses to every… Continue reading

Ownership Is More Than a Price Tag at Tim’s
“Not everyone who works at Tim Hortons should own one. And not everyone with the money should either.” I attended a leadership symposium recently and found myself sitting at a table with ten restaurant managers. Before the program officially began, while everyone was enjoying breakfast and networking, one person approached a leader from the head… Continue reading

At my current job, I was once labeled as promising and competent. Promoted multiple times in a year, enjoying the monetary perks and bragging rights. I wish to die EMPTY.
For the past few weeks (or maybe months now), I was seeing a gradually growing disinterest at many things. The one who used be swift in actions and sentiment d’urgence started to grasp things unappealing. I am starting to get lost. Until I heard someone said… “I wish to die empty..” I was trying to… Continue reading
About Me

I am a lifelong learner in an open society, driven by a deep curiosity about human behavior and how understanding it can help shape a better future.
My passions span foreign affairs, literature, the social sciences, education, law and order, diplomacy, national defense, foreign languages particularly French, music, film, technology, travel, textiles, high heels, wines and spirits, and, of course, cats.
Books have always been at the center of both my work and my life. I am especially drawn to works on strategy, history, and human nature, with The Art of War by Sun Tzu remaining one of my enduring favorites. I cannot imagine a life without books—they are both my greatest teachers and my favorite companions. Reading continually broadens my perspective, challenges my assumptions, and inspires me to learn, think, and engage more deeply with the world.
Cheers!
Bernadette :)
